New concepts for the food retail industry
Since years our clients out of the food retail industry have saved energy and have protected the environment by using the waste energy of the cooling plant for warm water heating. This concept is still the most effective and the most efficient for supermarkets and hypermarkets if the mead processing is located in the market. During the mead processing you need a lot of warm water for cleaning and this during the whole year (approximately 300 days).<
But we have to consider that the process of offering packed meat products on self services counters in supermarkets has advanced far already. Since years the industry sector of discounters has been increased. The discounters abstain in general from serve-over counters for mead products. But also in supermarkets the consumer finds more and more packed products. The consequence is that the daily request of warm water for cleaning is decrease substantially.
Now DK-Kälteanlagen offers three innovative concepts for a heat recovery for warming heating water.
1.) Heating with industrial cooling
- Option Heat Exchanger for service water>
- Option VRF for entire heating
The drawing “Gewerbekälte-01” shows how to use the waste energy of combined plans with a single-walled tubular condenser in a heating tank. An additional single-walled tubular condenser brings the upper part of the tank with superheating on a higher level of temperature as the condensing temperature.
In addition it is possible to install a condenser for an air-to-water heat pump so that the entire market can be heated.
A further option could be to insert in the heating tank a coiled tube out of stainless steel to offer the necessary demand of warm water to the market. The power of the stainless steel-heat exchanger ¾ “ 30 linear meter is approx. 25 kW, so is possible to heat 478l from 10°C to 55°C per hour.
2.) Heating with industrial cooling
- Option VRF for entire heating
The drawing “Gewerbekälte-02” shows a DK-Heat Recovery for heating a discounter without warm water heating. With a air-to-water heat pump heating water can be provide for heating in the winter and cold water for air-conditioning during the summer
3.) Heating with industrial cooling
- Option Heat Exchanger for service water
- Option VRF for entire heating and/or cooling
The drawing “Gewerbekälte-03” shows an installation where you can use the superheating of the combined plant heating warm water. The tanks for heating water and for warm water can be installed on top of each other under one isolation. With the shown installation it is possible to heat the entire market in the winter and to chill during the summer by an additional preparation of warm service water.
